I’ve been playing this game online at a high level since 2006 and I can tell you that every year had a horrific meta that was repeated over and over again.

The only difference is social media. Before 2017, these broken mechanics weren’t public knowledge. They were mostly used by pro players. Now, everyone can see them.

Everyone says FIFA 14 was good. At the pro level, everyone abused one cross. A single mechanic, repeated over and over again for 90 minutes. The only good thing about that game was that, at the casual level, people didn’t know the real meta.
