Figure’s humanoid robot, Figure 01, is now working at BMW’s Spartanburg, South Carolina plant, marking its first commercial job. A new video → shows Figure 01 in action, skillfully handling car parts and making real-time adjustments.

Powered by neural networks and a vision-language model from OpenAI, the robot converts camera pixels into precise actions, allowing it to operate autonomously.

Automakers are rapidly adopting humanoid robots. Mercedes recently employed Apptronik’s Apollo robot for simple tasks like fetching and carrying. Tesla is also using its Optimus robot in its production facilities, highlighting a growing trend in the industry.
