DUROV RUN

Alone in the Field — First at the Finish Line

"Wearing multiple hats is efficient. In the first months of VKontakte, I handled all the coding, graphics, writing, interfaces, and marketing. Doing it all myself eliminated the time wasted on communication."

🦾 At the start of your journey, you’re the programmer, designer, and marketer—all in one. Sounds impossible? Look at yourself!

In Durov Run, you begin the same way: running solo, developing your product, and carving the path to your IT empire — all on your own.

And who knows? Maybe one day, you’ll delegate tasks too… But first—prove you can do it all yourself!

Following the Footsteps of My Story

Every great journey begins with a single step. In Durov Run, this journey is divided into chapters — milestones on the path to building your IT empire. I’ll admit, these locations are especially close to my heart…

🏠 Chapter 1: Saint Petersburg — This is where my journey began with my first project, and later—VKontakte.

🏰 Chapter 2: Europe — In the game, this chapter is your chance to make a name for yourself on the international stage. Though, I must say, there are a few countries in Europe I’d personally avoid... 🥐

🏖 Chapter 3: Dubai — In Durov Run, this chapter marks the peak of your journey. But remember: even after reaching the top, you can’t stop.

Every step in Saint Petersburg is training for future success. Push yourself to leave your mark in Europe and reach the summit in Dubai.

👍 — 30 minutes
🔥 — 10 minutes
❤️ — 3 minutes

Icons Who Set the Pace for My Run

I rarely admire others, but there are a few people who truly stand as examples for me:

🌴 Che Guevara — A man who wasn’t afraid to challenge the system and change the world, no matter the risks.
🍏 Steve Jobs — A genius who turned technology into art and showed how ideas can reshape reality.

Each inspires me in their own way — one with his freedom, the other with his vision of the future.

Now it’s your time to set the pace in Durov Run!

How I spent February 14th!

❤️ Last Friday became a day when everyone was talking about love and proving it. But love can be different...

Since a young age, I've followed a simple rule for myself — it's easier to be alone. I try not to fall in love.

But the truth is, I can't seem to follow that rule.

One of the things I genuinely love is running. It brings clarity to my mind, helps me make decisions, and allows me to grow.

🚀 In Durov Run, you don’t need a partner to achieve success. Your best relationship is with yourself and your journey.

Commerce Is Not the Main Goal

I’ve already told you about my first projects, which were created for SPbU students.

💡 They had no ads, no monetization, and no commercial goals. This is how I’ve always approached products: first—value for people, then everything else.

In Durov Run, you’re also building your IT empire. But ask yourself: what makes your product truly valuable?

👀 Those who focus only on profit burn out quickly. But those who create something meaningful will always find a way to make it successful.

What Truly Matters?

"Each of us will die sooner or later, but as a species, we’ll remain for some time. That’s why I believe that money, fame, or power don’t matter. Serving humanity is the only thing that truly matters in the long run."

And this is what I want to leave for humanity:

🚀 Projects that change the world.
💡 Ideas that inspire generations.
🛰 Technologies that make life better.

Are you already building your legacy? Use Durov Run to level up your skills, move forward, and create something truly meaningful.

From Alpha Version to SPbU Forum

I remember taking this journey myself with my project spbgu.ru for students. In Durov Run, you can build your own IT empire and follow my path step by step:

🔵 Create UI design: without a user-friendly interface, users won’t stay.
🔵 Optimize the code: no one likes slow websites.
🔵 Set up the site: a strong technical foundation is key.
🔵 Do SEO optimization: more visibility means more traffic.

This roadmap already led me to success. Now it’s your turn—start your IT journey!

Give Your Brain a Break

🧠 Sometimes, it’s important to take a break and let your mind relax. I often used this technique during brainstorming sessions.

Pause for a moment — I’ve got a game for you.

Here are some letters that may seem unconnected at first glance. But if you look closely, you can form words from them.

This is a great way to unwind and re-energize.

🏁 I’ve already found the word "Finish" — how many words can you find? Share your results!

Improvement is the Engine of Progress

I've always strived for continuous improvement in my projects.

Maybe it’s my perfectionism, but that’s exactly what allowed me to make Telegram the fastest messenger and VK the most user-friendly social network for years.

The same applies to Durov Run — development makes you stronger:

💡 Farming popularity increases — you gain more fame even while offline.
💎 More gems — every successful run brings greater rewards.

Never stop improving! There is no limit to perfection ❤️

What Came Before VKontakte?

Before creating the largest social network in the CIS, I had already been developing communication platforms.

🔵 durov.com and spbgu.ru — projects for SPbU students, where they could exchange information and connect with like-minded people.

There was no commercial goal — just an idea and code. Back then, I had no idea this would become the starting point for something much bigger…

Just like in Durov Run, everything starts small—one run, one upgrade, one decision, and suddenly, you have an IT empire.

How to become popular?

In real life, popularity is a 24/7 job.

You need to create content, find new tricks, improve your products, and constantly stay in the spotlight.

🕺 In Durov Run, it's simpler: you just run, level up, and... that's it! Popularity comes to you, even when you're offline.

For 3 hours, while you're offline, popularity keeps accumulating on its own. When you return to the app — you can claim it.

If only life were like this, just like in Durov Run...

Potanin Scholarship? Yes, I Won It… More Than Once!

When I studied at SPbU, my journey wasn’t limited to programming alone.

One of the recognitions of my achievements was the Potanin Scholarship—a program that supports the most talented students in Russia.

How many times do you think I was awarded this scholarship?

👍 — 2
🔥 — 3
❤️ — 4

I hope you’ll assess my abilities fairly :)

What languages do I know?

I didn't even notice how, along my journey, I mastered 8 LANGUAGES:

🔵 Arabic;
🔵 English;
🔵 French;
🔵 German;
🔵 Italian;
🔵 Latin;
🔵 Spanish;
🔵 Ukrainian.

Each language is a tool that helped me achieve my goals and reach the results I set out for.

In Durov Run, your tools will be energy and strategy. Use them to build your IT empire!

Running Clothes 🧳

For me, comfort is the most important thing when it comes to running. The clothes should be such that you can focus solely on the movement, not be distracted by discomfort.

🛍 At Durov Run, we follow the same principles, which is why we're already working on the possibility of choosing clothes for your character in story mode.

You'll be able to choose what to wear while building your IT empire: a stylish suit or comfortable sneakers! 🧤

How do I stay young?

Youth is not just about age, but about lifestyle. In my work, I often face heavy loads, so health and well-being are my priorities.

My principles:
🌱 Minimum toxins: no alcohol, caffeine, or sugar.
🥙 Nutrition: plant-based food, free from harmful products.
🏃‍♂️ Running: jogging and training to maintain tone.
💤 Sleep: quality rest is the key to energy and mental clarity.

Thanks to this, my productivity remains high, and I always have time to develop the IT empire at Durov Run!

What is your ultimate goal?

Everyone sees the final goal differently, I can’t imagine stopping once something is achieved and calling it the end.

In the storyline mode of Durov Run, there is no reason to stop:

🟠 Alpha version of the social network — the first step is always the most important, but it's only a begging.

🟠 Register the domain — now the world will know about you.

🟠 Announcement on the SPbGU forum — your first community consisted of students. Feedback from the audience provides the motivation to keep going.

🟠 PR campaign “iPod for an invitation” — an innovative campaign attracting many new users.

🟠 100k users — this is the threshold after which real scaling begins.

Each stage is not just a task, but a challenge. It’s important to understand that the end is not the final destination, but a new beginning 🚀

The Little Things That Lead to Success 🌟

When I was creating my projects, I realized one simple truth:

People aren’t fools. They can sense—often subconsciously—the quality of what you offer. Every small, thoughtful detail, no matter how insignificant it may seem, wins you loyal users.

🔍 This principle also applies in Durov Run. Build your IT empire by paying attention to even the smallest details.

Don’t underestimate the little things—they will lead you to the top!
