Новый импульс нашему диалогу придал визит делегации Правительства Нижегородской области на Кубу в 2024 году. Состоялись переговоры на высшем уровне – с Первым секретарём ЦК Компартии, Президентом Республики Мигелем Диас-Канелем Бермудесом и представителями руководства страны. Важной также была встреча с Оскаром Пересом-Оливой Фрагой, ныне заместителем Премьер-министра Кубы.
С особой теплотой вспоминаю беседу с вице-премьером Рикардо Кабрисасом Руисом. Его уход из жизни стал большой потерей для всех, кто вкладывает душу в развитие дружбы между Россией и Кубой.
Приняли участие в заседании сопредседателей Межправительственной Российско-Кубинской комиссии в Гаване, где представил инициативы региона, вошедшие в двустороннюю повестку. Также работали на крупнейшей многоотраслевой выставке Латинской Америки FIHAV, что позволило выстроить прямые деловые контакты для нижегородских компаний.
Фундаментом отношений десятилетиями остаётся «Группа ГАЗ», но сегодня для нас важно расширять повестку за счет медицины, биотехнологий, цифровых решений, формируя задел для долгосрочного технологического партнёрства. О том, как эти направления уже реализуются на практике, расскажу отдельно.

Cooperation between the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Republic of Cuba is evolving from a traditional industrial base toward a technology-driven partnership.
A new momentum to our dialogue was given by the visit of the Nizhny Novgorod regional government delegation to Cuba in 2024. High-level talks were held with the First Secretary of the Communist Party Central Committee and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, as well as with senior members of the country’s leadership. A particularly important meeting also took place with Óscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga, now Deputy Prime Minister of Cuba.
I especially cherish my conversation with Vice Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz. His passing was a great loss for everyone who has devoted their heart to strengthening friendship between Russia and Cuba.
We took part in the meeting of the Co-Chairs of the Russian-Cuban Intergovernmental Commission in Havana, where I presented regional initiatives that were incorporated into the bilateral agenda. We also worked at FIHAV, Latin America’s largest multi-sector trade fair, which made it possible to establish direct business contacts for companies from the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
For decades, the foundation of our relations has been the GAZ Group. Today, however, it is essential for us to expand the agenda to include healthcare, biotechnology, and digital solutions, laying the groundwork for long-term technological partnership. I will share separately how these areas are already being implemented in practice.
