🚨BREAKTHROUGH: The first detransitioner medical malpractice case to go to trial just resulted in a $2 MILLION verdict.
Fox Varian was 16 years old when she received a double mastectomy. The psychologist and surgeon were both found liable.
The jury awarded $1.6 million for past and future pain and suffering, and $400,000 for future medical expenses.
Varian's lawyers argued that the psychologist "drove the train," and that her mother was pressured into consent after being told her daughter would commit suicide if they didn't proceed.
Varian also had anorexia, body dysmorphia, and autism - conditions with overlapping symptoms that her legal team argued were never adequately diagnosed before surgery.
There are currently 28 active detransitioner lawsuits across the country. And on February 11, the Texas Supreme Court will hear an appeal that could impact the statute of limitations in cases like these nationwide.
This is just the beginning.
