🚨 COINBASE SCAMMER STEALS $16M, LOSES $6M GAMBLING

Ronald Spektor, 23, has been sentenced to 4–12 years in prison after stealing nearly $16 million from around 100 Coinbase users through social engineering scams.

Prosecutors say he bragged about the thefts on Telegram as @lolimfeelingevil and claimed to have lost around $6 million gambling. He was also ordered to repay nearly $16 million.

🚨 UPDATE: FOMOPEEK LINKED TO $580K CRYPTO THEFT

On-chain tracing now links 579,984.34 USDT in stolen funds to the malicious FomoPeek iOS app, which was previously found using kernel exploits to escape Apple’s sandbox and access sensitive wallet data.

The stolen funds were then moved across multiple chains and services.

Four masked men broke into the home of a crypto-sector worker in France and tied up him, his partner and their 8- and 12-year-old children for more than three hours.

Police busted a call centre accused of targeting Americans by posing as tech support, remotely accessing their computers and falsely claiming they contained evidence of serious crimes.

🚨 POLAND LOSES $424M IN FAILED USDT OIL DEAL

A new investigation has revealed how Poland’s state-owned Orlen paid $230M upfront for 6 million barrels of Venezuelan oil in late 2023.

Around $110M in USDT was reportedly handed to intermediaries in Caracas, but Venezuela’s state oil company says it never received the money.

Only about $28.8M worth of fuel arrived, while one tanker alone racked up $72M in costs. Total losses are estimated at around $424M.

🚨 CARDANO YOUTUBE HIJACKED TO PUSH CRYPTO SCAM

The developer behind Cardano says its official YouTube channel was hijacked and used to livestream a fake video of Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson promoting a crypto giveaway.

The stream promised viewers it would “double your wealth” and displayed a QR code directing them to send funds.

🚨 HACKER LOSES $7.8M TO A BOT MID-EXPLOIT

A hacker found a flaw that could let them drain around $7.8 million from a large crypto holder’s wallet.

Before the attack could go through, an automated MEV bot called “Yoink” spotted the pending transaction, copied the exploit and got its own transaction processed first, taking the $7.8 million instead.
