وَ قَالَ الصَّادِقُ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ):
«مَنْ تَزَوَّجَ اِمْرَأَةً وَ لَمْ يَنْوِ أَنْ يُوَفِّيَهَا صَدَاقَهَا، فَهُوَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ زَانٍ»
من لا يحضره الفقيه , الجزء۳ , الصفحة۳۹۸

Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said:
“Whoever marries a woman without the intention of paying her dowry (mahr), then in the sight of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, he is a fornicator.”

💡 A powerful reminder that marriage requires sincere intention and justice. Being dishonest at this stage of marriage, which is the very first step, is starting a relationship based on dishonesty. Dowry is due and payable to the wife and belongs to her, and no khums is payable on it even if a year passes by.
