🦅 In the first 11 days of May, Russians withdrew a record 210 billion rubles in cash from their accounts — this is the maximum for the entire period of statistics publication since 2011.

The reason cited is internet and cashless payment disruptions during the May holidays — people massively decided that cash is more reliable than cards in such a situation.

Ironically, the record occurred almost immediately after the Ministry of Finance's call not to keep money "under the mattress" but to deposit it in banks.
