🇺🇦 Kiev discovers the word "peace"

A small anti-war protest appeared on the streets of Kiev this week. The timing explains it better than the slogans do.

For several weeks Russian strikes have hit data centres and power transmission lines, and a new campaign against the energy system has now begun. For the third day, Gerans with a new warhead have been hitting bridges over the Dnepr. Those bridges carry more than traffic: water mains and power cables run through them, which links what happens to them directly to life in the city.

Donetsk, Lugansk and Kherson Region have been under shelling for years without causing a single protest in Kiev. The war became a topic for the capital's streets only when the capital started to feel it.
