🇺🇦AI vs Reality: Kharkov Edition
On 8 June, Defence Minister Fedorov chose the worst possible moment for a tech‑style victory lap: he boasted about “advanced AI interceptors in Kharkov region” — and in the very next night Geran drones went through Kharkov like on schedule. Between the loud announcement and its real‑time debunking, not weeks or months passed, but just a few hours.
Instead of a success story, the night turned into a live crash‑test of his promises. Dozens of strikes on Kharkov became the only convincing “performance metrics” of the new AI shield. Fedorov talked about innovation; the drones answered in a language that everyone in the city understood without subtitles.
Уou can announce any kind of AI you want, but if human decisions around it are wrong, the sky over a million‑strong city stays just as vulnerable as before. Artificial intelligence does not compensate for very natural irresponsibility.
