I got tagged in a little tg relay/event/challenge..

The idea is pretty simple:
Write ur honest opinion about me in the comments and hide it under a spoiler, so I can come back later and read everything at once

Positive, negative, silly, serious - anything counts. I'm also genuinely curious what u think about me and my content!

Big thanks to the @nadobriemzElai who passed this to me! 🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛

And now I'm passing it on to..

Even tho I'm constantly working on something, sometimes I can afford the luxury of spending an hour in the evening actually playing a game instead of developing one. And, as u probably know, I'm a Game Developer with an actual diploma, and my blog(wherever it exists) has always mostly been about programming and game dev.
So today: Batman: Arkham Asylum
I finishes game 2day, but I didn't do all the challenges, collect every trophy or unlock every upgrade.
But holy shit - this game is so good!
I’m not really a superhero guy, but as a kid I loved Batman. He was probably my favorite, cuz he felt somewhat human: trauma, a persona he hides behind, actual limitations and k, fine. I just want his superpower - Money..
As a teenager I became more of a Marvel person. Never really read comics, so most of my knowledge came from movies. Marvel was easier to get into, while DC's atmosphere wasn't really my thing.. And "Batman v Superman" is still boring as fuck. But as I got older, I started appreciating Batman's darker atmosphere much more. And AA absolutely nails it: the game pulls heavily from Batman comic lore, which I only know vaguely, but even without knowing much, every character is easy to understand. Everyone has their own personality, visual style and unique flavor of insanity, so if u know almost nothing about Batman, u instantly get who these people are.
The story also has great pacing. It constantly makes u think: "Okay, what happens next?" Then Joker does something stupid, half the asylum explodes and suddenly it’s 2 AM
The combat system might be my favorite part: It looks so beautiful: attacks, counters, takedowns and transitions between enemies make fights look almost choreographed. But it isn’t just button mashing. Different enemies force u to change tactics, prioritize targets and use different tools.
And for a 2009 game, the combat still feels ridiculously good.
The level design feels surprisingly Metroidvania-like: U constantly see places u can't reach yet, only to return later with a new gadget and stuck.. Except when I spent half an hour walking around the same room trying to figure out where to go.. Skill issue..
My main complaint is that some areas feel too corridor-like. Sometimes u can really feel the level designer saying: "No. Batman goes through THIS hallway"
Then there’s stealth, which fits Batman perfectly: hide on gargoyles, crawl through vents, isolate enemies and scare the shit out of them one by one. And the game often forces u to use it cuz if a room is full of armed enemies and u walk toward them like Superman.. Congrats.. U discovered bullets..
Collectibles mostly give XP, lore, bios and challenge content. So yeah, there’s a reason to hunt them down..
But if u see 35 question marks on a map and immediately develop a psychological disorder, u can just keep going with the story. Upgrades matter more. Many improve combat or gadgets, tho some I unlocked, used twice and forgot existed, looking at u Sonic Batarang and Remote Controlled Batarang..
And then there are the graphics: I played on Xbox 360. A 2009 game running on a 2005 console with 512 MB of unified memory, and it still looks great! Sometimes I look at old games like this, then at modern AAA releases, and wonder where all those extra gigabytes went. Batman's cape physics especially impressed me. His suit also gets visibly more damaged throughout the game tears, scratches, wounds, which makes the journey feel much more physical.
The PC Arkham games also went harder on physics with NVIDIA PhysX - back when "PhysX" was one of those magical words NVIDIA slapped onto trailers to convince u ur GPU was doing nuclear research. PhysX eventually became open source, btw..
Batman: Arkham Asylum is awesome!
Even if u don't care much about superheroes, it's worth playing just to see how well combat, stealth, atmosphere and level design work together. It's not a 120-hour open world. It doesn’t demand to become ur second job. U can play it for a couple evenings, finish the story, have a great time and move on..
And honestly? We need more games like that!

Have you ever wondered how a processor actually executes your code? Not through 👩‍💻, 💻 or 👩‍💻, but almost directly, without the abstractions we're used to?
That's where Assembly Language comes in, a low-level programming language, that allows to work with instructions specific to a processor's architecture 🤩.
For introduction, I take the legendary 8-bit MOS 6502 🎚 processor released in 1975, which powered computers like the Apple II and Commodore 64 while a modified version was used in the Nintendo Entertainment System 🎮 (aka Famicom for Japan🇯🇵 or Dendy for post-soviet countries including Ukraine🇺🇦).

⁉️ How does it work?
The 6502 has three main 8-bit registers that we'll be working with:
A - the accumulator, which used for arithmetic operations and data manipulation;
X and Y, which index registers, commonly used for counters and memory operations.

💃Let's write a tiny program that adds 5 and 3:
LDA #$05
CLC
ADC #$03
STA $0200

What's happening here?
LDA #$05 - loading the number 5 into accumulator.
CLC - clears the carry flag so it doesn't affect our addition.
ADC #$03 - adds 3 to the accumulator, including the carry flag.
STA $0200 - stores the result at memory address $0200.

And there we go! The result is 8
By the way, the $ symbol indicates hexadecimal notation,
while # means we're using an immediate value rather than reading from a memory address.

⁉️ But processors don't understand text!
The instruction: LDA #$05
Is translated by an assembler into machine code: A9 05
Here, A9 is the operation code (opcode), and 05 is the value we're loading.
These bytes are what the processor actually understands and executes!

⁉️ Where can you try it yourself?
You don't need to buy a vintage computer or a physical processor to start experimenting!
There's a wonderful online simulator called Easy 6502, where you can write Assembly code, execute it, and watch how registers and memory change. 😄

Learning Assembly helps you understand what's really happening under the hood of your favorite programming languages. Even if you never use it in a commercial project, it can fundamentally change how you understand computers.
Because every Hello World ⚠️ eventually becomes instructions executed by a processor 🥠

🦇 Look at those bouncy wings!!!🩸

They're adorable and I love how they turned out! (˶˃ ∇ ˂˶)💛

For this physics were required only 2 layers and custom art mesh that was mirroring structure of a bat wings. I'm using Position X for XZ movements and Angle for breath and Y movements.

This way wings have an idle animation when the model is static and the physics don't break wings during aggressive XZ movements, allowing it to function properly ☝🏼🤓

🌐 Day 4
- Your Data Doesn't Travel as One Big Thing

Imagine: Platypus wants to send another Platypus a giant box of cookies 🍪📦
It would be pretty inconvenient to send the whole box at once.

So instead, we split it into lots of smaller boxes

That's basically what happens to data on the Internet..

A message, image, video, or part of a website can be split into many small pieces called packets.
Each packet contains some of the actual data, plus information that helps the network deliver it to the right place.

And here's the clever part:
- The packets don't necessarily have to take the same route.
- One packet might go through one router.
- Another might take a completely different path.
- They can even arrive at different times.
- When they reach the destination, the receiving computer puts everything back together.

So when you send a photo to someone, you're not really sending one photo through the Internet.
You're sending lots of tiny pieces that eventually become a photo again.

It's basically the Internet saying:
"Why send one giant cookie when we can send 500 tiny cookies?" 🍪
And honestly..
That's a pretty good system.

Next: How does the Internet know which computer those packets are supposed to reach? 🌐

🌐 Day 3
- What Actually Travels Through the Internet?

Okay, we know that the Internet is made of computers, routers and a lot of cables, but what actually travels through those cables? Bits! 💾 Just tiny zeroes and ones..

Imagine a Platypus wants to send another Platypus a cookie 🍪
The computer doesn't really understand what cookie is, as we do. It turns the information into a huge stream of bits, those bits then have to physically travel from one device to another. And this is where things get cool..

Inside a fiber-optic cable, information is represented using pulses of light.💡In other types of connections, it can be represented using electrical signals or radio waves 📻

So when you send a message, your computer is basically saying: 011000110110111101101111011010110110100101100101..

And somewhere on the other side, another computer receives those signals and turns them back into something meaningful.
Of course, the real process is much more complicated than just sending random 1s and 0s. There are different encoding methods, timing, error handling and many other things involved.
But at the very bottom of our Internet journey, we're dealing with something surprisingly simple: info -> bits -> physical signals -> another computer..

Next, we're going to take those bits and see how they become something much more useful: 📦 packets.
And that's where our little cookie starts getting interesting.. 🍪
