There is almost nothing written about FTBN anywhere, and that seems to be the point. The project comes out of Warsaw, is run by someone who goes only by Bien, and carries no label at all — the copyright line on the records just reads "FTBN". What stands in for a press kit is two sentences the artist wrote themselves. On Bandcamp: "liminal slowcore and fog ambient from a quiet place. no rush, no shine. just sound, unfolding. sometimes a voice. sometimes not." On YouTube, where the music arrives with images attached: "FTBN is an audiovisual project by Bien. dark ambient. spoken fragments. moving images. notes from the hollow."
For something with no label and no press, the numbers are not small. Spotify currently shows around 64,000 monthly listeners, and the SoundCloud page holds 184 tracks and keeps filling up. Word of mouth appears to be doing the entire job.
The way in is «left behind» — fifteen tracks, fifty-three minutes, released on 28 November 2025 and still the longest thing in the catalogue. The titles tell you the weather: "forgotten gods", "don't ask the sea", "last voicemail". An earlier album, «Bluebird», arrived in 2024, and 2026 has been a steady drip of singles and one EP — «home», «not fully here», «fading tides blurred names», «unreachable», «after noise», «not meant to be understood», «end of august» — as though the project would rather keep speaking quietly than save it all up for an announcement.
Fair warning: this is ambient that lets a voice in now and then, and it is closer to slowcore at the edges than to pure drone. If that sounds right, it is a good place to spend an evening.
