Here's a classic shepherd’s pie recipe for a cozy meal.

Ingredients:

1 lb (450g) ground lamb (or beef for cottage pie)
1 onion, finely chopped
1 carrot, diced
1 cup (150g) peas
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 cup (240ml) beef broth
Salt and pepper to taste
4 cups (900g) mashed potatoes
2 tbsp butter
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large skillet, cook ground meat over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add onions and carrots, cooking until softened. Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, peas, and beef broth. Season with salt and pepper.
Simmer for 10 minutes until thickened.
Spread meat mixture in a baking dish. Top evenly with mashed potatoes, spreading to cover.
Dot with butter, and bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden on top.
Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
Enjoy your homemade shepherd’s pie! Perfect for chilly days.
