⚖️ The court stopped Donald Trump - Lisa Cook remains on the Fed Council.

A federal judge blocked Donald Trump’s attempt to fire Fed Council member Lisa Cook on charges of mortgage fraud.

➥ The court decided that the charges were not a «sufficient reason» for dismissal under the Federal Reserve Act.

➥ Trump’s attempt to suspend her violated constitutional rights.

➥ Now Cook will be able to participate in the Fed meeting on September 17 and vote on the rate.

➥ The Ministry of Justice is already preparing an appeal, the case may reach the Supreme Court.

Lisa Cook’s lawyer: «To allow the president to dismiss members of the Fed on vague charges means to undermine the independence of the regulator and the stability of the financial system.»
