In April, Netflix announced a $25 billion share buyback. That's more than the company plans to spend on content production in all of 2026.
The company's scale shows in its revenue, too: over the past three years it has grown from $31.6 billion in 2022 to around $45 billion in 2025. Netflix remains one of the world's leading online streaming platforms.
What is a share buyback?
A company buys its own stock back from the open market, so fewer of those shares stay in circulation. That makes each remaining shareholder's slice of the company a little bigger.
⚡️Markets often read a buyback as one possible signal of how management sees the company's prospects.
