Velient is a project building FHE-powered privacy tools for on-chain applications, including encrypted state transitions settled via commitments, nullifiers, Merkle trees, and ZK proofs. What is FHE (Fully Homomorphic Encryption)? It's a technique that allows computations to be performed directly on encrypted data (ciphertext) without decrypting it first. The result of those computations is also encrypted, and when you decrypt it later with the proper key, you get the exact same result as if the operations had been done on the original unencrypted (plaintext) data.
