Coinbase has received CFTC approval to register Coinbase Clearing as a derivatives clearing organization, completing its full regulated derivatives stack alongside existing FCM and DCM registrations.
It can now clear fully collateralized futures, options, and swaps in-house - leveraged products still route through outside partners.
