BitMEX, the perpetuals-trading pioneer co-founded by Arthur Hayes, has officially shut down trading and deposits as of 04:00 UTC today, ending 11 years of operations. Withdrawals remain open, though account fees now apply to balances left on the exchange.
Hayes is now building Flop Labs, an AI crypto project that recently revealed its $FLOP token with no VC allocation, ahead of a planned Q4 2026 airdrop.
