Trump’s legal team reportedly pulled him from a scheduled deposition, citing “matters of national importance,” and said he may not be available until January 2027, after the case’s discovery deadline.

Judge Enjolique A. Lett warned that Trump’s repeated lack of participation must end, ordering him to respond by October 22. The BBC is seeking to compel his testimony.

Trump sued the BBC’s editing of his January 6 speech, which the broadcaster has apologized for while denying defamation.
