Pheidias' workshop
The top of each Parthenon pediment was adorned by one big acroterion in the form of a palmette placed on a low marble base. The reconstructed acroterion exhibited in the Acropolis Museum aims to visualise the impressive size of the two acroterions that exceed three metres and highlight their design novelty that draws on the combination of acanthus and palm tree leaves.
