Germany's Chancellor Merz:

There are questions in the European Union and among many partner countries outside Europe concerning the stability of Germany’s federal government.

Some people in Germany itself perhaps do not understand what it would mean if the federal government could no longer fulfill its responsibilities.

The consequences would be enormous — for the economy, foreign policy and domestic policy. These things cannot be separated from one another. They are indivisible.
