Ukrainian drone strikes on three Yandex data centers (Oct 8–11) have crippled Russia’s biggest tech company, with services still unstable six days later.

Facilities in Sasovo and Vladimir were fully knocked offline, while Kaluga was partially hit — together taking down 80+ cloud services at peak and disrupting everyday apps millions of Russians depend on.

Yandex Pay, Maps, Taxi, Navigator, and the Alice AI assistant remain glitchy or unavailable across multiple regions as of today.

Yandex Cloud is in emergency mode with compute, databases, Kubernetes, and AI services degraded or offline.

The company waived fees through October and told customers to use backup options.

Yandex says user money and data are safe but acknowledges prolonged access issues.

The Vladimir facility alone was a 50 MW site designed for ~2,880 server racks.

Physical repairs could take weeks to months depending on damage to servers, power, and cooling systems.
