Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr.’s former fiancée, allegedly offered to use her connections to help Deters with IRS and Justice Department matters and secure a Tucker Carlson interview, for which he had promised up to $1 million.
Messages show Guilfoyle repeatedly warned Deters against documenting their financial arrangements, saying he could cost her the ambassadorship.
Deters, who had previously paid Guilfoyle $300,000 in speaking fees, refused to pay the credit card bill and said she had delivered none of the favors he sought.
Guilfoyle’s lawyer disputed the authenticity of the messages and maintained that she was owed money for previous speaking engagements.
