The Trump administration pressured several countries to withdraw their sponsorship of a major European disinformation conference in Lithuania.

The EU, Lithuania and Canada subsequently withdrew their official support after U.S. officials objected to a panel examining the U.S. as a potential source of disinformation in Europe.

Their logos were removed from conference materials just days before the event. All three said parts of the program did not reflect their official positions.

The EU continues to fund the conference despite withdrawing its official sponsorship, while France maintained its support.
