⚡️🏅🇺🇳🇿🇦 – 'Navi' Pillay, a South African judge on the International Criminal Court (ICC), has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
The 85-year-old woman is regarded as a pioneer of human rights and international law, with a career spanning from defending anti-apartheid activists like Nelson Mandela to more recently chairing the UN Comission that declared Israel responsible for genocide in Gaza.
She also worked on the ICC Tribunal of the Rwandan genocide and having a role in establishing sexual violence as a crime against humanity and prosecuting incitement to genocide.
