📦 AirTag inside a rare book led straight to an Amazon scanning facility

Booksellers had long suspected bulk orders were coming from AI companies. 404 Media hid an AirTag in a shipment — it ended up at an Amazon site where, employees confirmed, bindings are sliced off, pages scanned, and the books destroyed.

A 2025 US ruling deemed it lawful as "transformative" use of copyrighted material.
