The
ElizaOS token — formerly AI16Z — hit a record low of $0.000284, with a market cap of $2.1 million. In January 2025, that figure was $2.5 billion.Eliza Labs founder Shaw Walters announced the token is "completely dead." The Eliza Foundation is winding down after settling a tokenholder lawsuit by transferring its remaining treasury to claimants. The April suit alleged false advertising and unjust enrichment; Walters called it "ridiculous" but said the project had no funds left to fight it.
Development of the open-source Eliza framework continues — without a token. Cointelegraph had not received comment from either party by publication time.
