⚽ America just discovered football — the real kind

51 million people were watching the exact moment substitute Ferran Torres scored in the 106th minute of extra time. Spain 1–0 Argentina, and the records fell like dominoes.

Fox alone averaged 38.9M viewers — up 132% from the 2022 final (16.8M) and up 240% from 2018 (11.4M). Telemundo/Peacock numbers still pending, so the ceiling is higher.

The country that spent decades calling it "soccer so it doesn't get confused with real football" just set a number the NFL can actually respect.
