🇦🇹 Toto Wolff has made it clear that Mercedes will not tolerate a repeat of the destructive rivalry between Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, which defined the 2014–2016 seasons.

“I will not allow it. That’s never going to happen to me again. That’s never going to happen to the team again. Simple.”

The Mercedes team principal added that any driver who allowed an internal battle to cross that line would be removed from the line-up.

🏳️ A blue-flag system failure caused confusion throughout the Hungarian Grand Prix, according to Autosport.

Warnings appeared randomly on drivers’ steering-wheel displays and did not show the car number they applied to. Race control was aware of the issue and relied instead on physical flags and trackside light panels.

🏎 Esteban Ocon said he raced Isack Hadjar for several corners after leaving the pits, unaware that he was already a lap down. His team eventually clarified the situation over the radio.

Carlos Sainz was also unaware that Oscar Piastri was approaching to lap him before their Turn 2 collision, while Oliver Bearman said blue-flag warnings appeared on his display almost every lap, making it difficult to tell who they were intended for.

⚙️ The FIA carried out urgent resurfacing at Turn 1 after drivers complained that the new asphalt was breaking up.

Hot, dry weather reportedly caused subsurface settlement, affecting Turns 1, 12 and 13. Pirelli also recorded less grip than last year.

George Russell called the situation “quite strange”, while Oscar Piastri said the new surface was “not very grippy”. Franco Colapinto later crashed at Turn 12.

Turn 1 was prioritised because it is the circuit’s main overtaking zone.
