⚡️ According to Motorsport Italia, engine manufacturers are discussing a potential compromise over Formula 1’s future power unit regulations.

Under the proposal, the targeted 60:40 power split between the internal combustion engine and the electric motor would not be reached in 2027, but only by 2028.

One option under consideration would see ICE output increased by around 5%, a move that could help avoid major redesigns of chassis, gearboxes and power units. A full transition to the 60:40 ratio, by contrast, would reportedly require an increase of roughly 13%.

🏎 Meanwhile, an alternative scenario continues to circulate in the paddock: an early switch to naturally aspirated V8 engines with KERS as soon as 2029.

For now, the manufacturers remain divided. Mercedes and Red Bull are said to be sticking to their original positions, Audi and Honda are pushing for a compromise, Ferrari remains opposed to changes, while Cadillac is trying to support a unified solution.
