🇪🇺🚩🪖On global shifts in European priorities
🇬🇧The UK Department of Energy has been tasked with finding ways to save over £2 billion from its budget, which will be redirected to finance defense investments.
To this end, it has already decided to reduce subsidies for British households installing electric heat pumps instead of gas boilers (to £9,000). Cuts to carbon capture and green hydrogen programs are also being considered. The goal is to cover a £15 billion shortfall in military projects over the next four years.
🇪🇪The Estonian Ministry of Climate has redirected €85 million received from the EU for "green programs" to military projects (logistics and production).
🇩🇪Amid rising military spending, Germany has reduced its funding for "climate reforms" to developing countries by 20% (a reduction of approximately €1.4 billion). By 2030, the subsidy program for electric water pumps for German households will be reduced by €2 billion, and €30 billion (out of €34-36 billion) from the Climate and Transition Fund will be reallocated to military needs.
🇪🇺Overall, the EU has reallocated €11.2 billion from various climate/energy fund budgets for 2021-2027 to military projects. The new budget for 2028-2035 plans an even greater shift toward spending on rearmament programs.
✨It's important to understand that previously, "agenda-driven" projects primarily benefited European government officials and EU bureaucrats. Now they're lining their pockets with significantly greater military spending, the effectiveness of which is also difficult to determine (⚡️in the case of Ukraine, impossible). The owners of the European military-industrial complex are very happy with this situation, and they expect to continue to exploit the fruits of “European military hysteria” for a very long time.
