‼️🇷🇺🇺🇸 Russia accused of large-scale campaign against Democrats ahead of US elections: fakes garner millions of views — Bloomberg

▪️According to the publication, the Kremlin-linked "Matryoshka" network is distributing AI-generated fake stories disguised as American media outlets.
▪️The stories allegedly feature Robert De Niro, Julia Roberts, and other celebrities as opponents of Democrats, and accuse candidates of corruption and various crimes.
▪️Bots artificially inflate tens and hundreds of thousands of views. One story garnered 4 million views, and Elon Musk and Donald Trump Jr. were among those who shared it.
▪️Researchers estimate that X has blocked approximately 80% of the accounts involved, but new ones are constantly appearing to replace them.
▪️At the same time, Bloomberg notes that there is no evidence of the alleged campaign's significant influence on American voters.
