🇺🇦🇵🇱🇷🇴 Poland and Romania have refused to increase the transit of Ukrainian grain through their territories, — Politico
▪️Kyiv has asked EU countries to expand land export routes and allocate €1.1 billion to offset increased transportation costs. Currently, rail, road, and river routes are able to export less than half of the required volume.
▪️Without additional routes, Ukraine could be left with up to 35 million tons of grain this year. Kyiv fears that by spring, a lack of funds among farmers could lead to a 35-40% reduction in planting area.
➖ "We cannot double the number of trains, roads, railways, and port capacity. What we have is what we have," said Romanian Agriculture Minister Barna Tanțos, emphasizing the priority of local farmers' interests. ▪️The Polish Ministry of Infrastructure also stated that it does not plan to increase the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products.
