A Flydubai co-pilot attacked the captain and attempted to hijack the plane.
On a Dubai-Tel Aviv flight, 29-year-old Hamam Al-Hammami struck the captain with an emergency axe. During the fight, the plane lost approximately 4.5 km of altitude in 29 seconds, after which the other pilots took control and landed the plane in Tabuk.
UAE authorities have classified the incident as a terrorist attack. Al-Hammami was detained and stated that he intended to crash the plane in Israel.
