‼️🇺🇸🇸🇾 The Trump administration has removed Syria from the list of countries banned from selling American weapons, according to the Associated Press

▪️Now Damascus's requests to purchase American weapons will be reviewed individually, rather than automatically rejected.
▪️Only seven countries remain on the list: Belarus, China, Cuba, Iran, Myanmar, North Korea, and Venezuela. Russia is not on this specific ITAR list.
▪️This decision continues Washington's course toward rapprochement with the new Syrian leadership following the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad. Earlier, the Trump administration began easing long-standing sanctions, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio lifted Syria's designation as a state sponsor of terrorism.
▪️The State Department also announced plans to reopen the US embassy in Damascus, which was closed 14 years ago.
