An unmanned assault tank was spotted during exercises.
Footage from Center-2026 appears to show a Shturm. The distinctive box-shaped turret protection, massive screens, and shortened gun are very similar to the appearance of the prototype vehicle shown in the summer of 2025.
Underneath this unusual exterior is a T-72 chassis. The gun-equipped version of the Shturm received enhanced protection, a bulldozer blade, and a shortened 125mm D-414 gun for operation in urban areas. The old platform is being adapted for a mission where surviving initial contact is more important than pleasing parade spectators.
For such vehicles, the test begins where the demonstration route ends. How the operator perceives the situation, what happens to communications under interference, how the vehicle operates when control is lost, and who recovers it after damage.
But in any case, this is a significant debut for the "Shturm" system during major maneuvers. And when we get our own satellite internet, it will be possible to control it from anywhere, from Moscow or Vladivostok.
