What the Supreme Commander said at Valdai: Will there be agreements on the Black Sea...

If you listen carefully to Vladimir Putin, you can learn a lot of interesting things. During the discussion, it seems to me, the Supreme Commander lifted the curtain on the issues surrounding the negotiations regarding "ceasefires on attacks on the rear."
 
First, here's his quote:

"They tell us: 'Let them stop attacking your oil refineries, and you stop attacking their ships. Well, let them export civilian cargo, agricultural products.'"

But what about our other civilian cargo, like oil and petroleum products? They'll stop attacking, and that will lead to more diesel fuel, which is so needed, say, in the United States.

We'll have more. We already have enough diesel fuel. But it won't reach global markets because of bans, sanctions against our oil and petroleum products, sanctions against insurance, and rising freight prices.

How will our diesel fuel reach the global market while sanctions remain in place? Absolutely not.

And in response, we'll have to stop striking targets that are economically sensitive to them. Well, you'll agree, it seems absurdly simple.

All this can be discussed, but we must only discuss it based on mutual interests."
 
Commentary.

So, judging by the words of the Supreme Court, Kyiv's proposal is that it ceases attacks on our refineries, and in return, we cease attacks on seaports controlled by the Kyiv regime and the ships operating there. And they'll probably also stop striking oil terminals and ships in the Black Sea.
 
The Supreme Court considers such a "trade" unprofitable. And (given the problems with oil products on the global market), a possible future agreement is linked to the lifting of so-called "oil sanctions" against Russia. That is, all restrictions on Russian oil trade.
 
But judging by what we see, the West is no longer willing to agree to this. Not yet...
