Galaxy: 69.2% of Polymarket Retail Accounts Lose Money, With $338.9M in Aggregate Losses

Galaxy Research found that 69.2% of roughly 2.9 million human-paced “retail” accounts on Polymarket’s international platform finished below break-even, with aggregate losses of $338.9 million. The analysis, based on onchain settlement data curated by Stork, showed that 15.2% of accounts did not trade again within 30 days after a loss, versus 6.1% after a win. About 44.1% of traders concentrated more than 60% of their activity in a single topic. Sports specialists made up 47% of specialists but had the lowest profitability rate at 25.1%, while tech and science specialists had the highest at 41.2%, though the sample was smaller. Profitable traders had a median position size of $13.96, versus $10 for unprofitable traders, while holding time showed no clear relationship with profitability. — link

NEAR Intents just suffered a $3.8M exploit🚨

Just 2 days after blocking $50M in attempted swaps linked to the Bitget hacker.

What a fcking week for NEAR.

Here’s what happened:

Today NEAR Intents temporarily suspended its services after discovering a vulnerability involving Omni’s deposit

The team says:

- $3.8M was lost.
- The vulnerability has been patched.
- Affected users will be fully compensated.
- Security firms and authorities are investigating.

To make it clear Intents is the cross-chain infrastructure that allows users to swap assets

Just two days earlier, NEAR Intents reported blocking the vast majority of $50M in attempted swaps associated with the Bitget hacker.

Now its own infrastructure has been exploited.

Ofc there is currently no evidence connecting the two incidents.

$NEAR reacted negatively

(But remember that NEAR had also rallied over 140% during the preceding month)

I see this as a similar case to what happened with $ZEC at the beginning of the summer.

Useless fud for now.
