This is not a signed statute or a floor vote on the books. It is a symbolic strike from the clock that has spent years counting what the old system costs. The argument is plain for any worker opening a paycheck, any homeowner staring at a property bill, or any investor watching a gain get clipped. What happens if taxation stops punishing working, owning and investing?
For decades the model has run the other way. Earn a wage and income tax takes a cut. Clear a mortgage and the property tax never really clears. Take a risk, watch an asset rise, and the gains tax arrives after the danger has been carried. The Debt Clock turns that sequence upside down and begins with the person who created the value.
Zero income tax puts the worker first. A person goes to the job, earns the check and keeps what labor produced. Every dollar not pulled through withholding remains inside the household that earned it. Taxing labor reduces the reward for producing value.
Zero property tax reaches a deeper nerve: ownership itself. A family can spend decades paying for a house, burn the mortgage, and still owe a recurring bill to keep the deed. If possession requires endless payments to government, how complete is the ownership? Land and homes would pass to children without a yearly tax on holding.
Zero gains tax aims at the reward that follows risk. Capital goes into companies, markets and property with no guarantee of success. When the bet pays, the clock asks whether government should take a slice after the investor has carried the downside. Removing that tax strengthens the reason to invest again.
The percentages are not the whole point. The philosophy above them is two words: incentives work. Trump stands beside the zeros, golden ship in hand, linking the vision to his movement without proving enacted policy. Rather than asking how much more Americans should pay, the Debt Clock asks how much of what they earn, own and build they should keep.
