🔋 Indispensable Interphase Passivation in Solvation‐Regulated Propylene Carbonate Electrolytes for Ah‐Level Lithium‐Ion Batteries at −50–120°C

💡 Novelty & Significance:
This work decouples solvation regulation from interphase passivation in propylene carbonate electrolytes, revealing that solvation engineering alone fails at high currents where Li⁺-PC co-intercalation occurs at exposed graphite sites. A continuous SEI is indispensable. The optimized electrolyte enables 1.0 Ah graphite||NCM83 pouch cells with 93.5% initial Coulombic efficiency, 2000-cycle stability, and −50–120°C operation.
