Over more than two years packed with international and regional events, Netanyahu invoked the pager operation in his speeches approximately seventeen times, not counting interviews and incidental remarks.
A whole army of institutions and media figures followed suit, while writers and filmmakers eagerly embraced the prospect of a new Trojan horse.
Even most of those who addressed the subject from the opposing camp, whether in good faith or bad, fell into the propaganda trap.
Their questions became muddled, and their hunger for scoops drove them towards quick, insubstantial answers that offered little nourishment and even less truth.
It is only natural that the Israeli entity and its agencies, Netanyahu in particular, would mobilise to present the pager operation as the crown jewel of their security operations.
Their aim is to extend the operational lifespan of its tactical effects into a strategic impact, while reinforcing the doctrine—and the complex—of superiority that governs the Zionist mindset.
What is unhealthy, however, is for some to surrender to the Antichrist’s propaganda and become one of its “supply chains.”
This does not mean trivialising the planning or execution of the operation. Rather, it means reordering the questions surrounding its uniqueness and innovation, its strengths and achievements, and its weaknesses and failures.
In military science, distinguishing between the tactical, operational, and strategic levels is almost a fundamental principle of planning, while warning against conflating their respective effects is part of its basic tenets.
Setting aside the allure of the deception, what came after September 17, 2024?
What followed an operation that had taken years to prepare, intertwining intelligence, technology, manufacturing, and deception, before it culminated in explosions that, at best, could be interpreted as a tactical achievement?
Perhaps this was one of those rare operations in which tactical success reached its peak just before turning against its perpetrators.
For the deception did not reach the end of its lifespan when thousands of devices exploded.
Instead, another chapter began—one that cannot be measured by the number of eyes it extinguished or fingers it severed, but by the doors it opened, doors whose keys the planners did not possess to close them again.
