The Exam Questions Were Leaked Long Ago!
When examination questions are leaked, students usually celebrate; the anxiety of the unknown disappears, and they feel they have been given an advantage before entering the exam hall.
Yet there is another examination whose questions have been known for centuries—and despite that, remarkably few people truly pass it.
The questions of the grave have, in a sense, already been revealed: among the most important is this:
When truth and falsehood stood before you, did you stand with the truth?
When someone was wronged, did you defend the oppressed—or did you remain silent?
The Qur’an reminds us:
“And what is the matter with you that you do not fight in the cause of Allah and for the oppressed among men, women and children?”
(4:75).
The verse confronts the believer with a fundamental responsibility: faith is not merely an inner conviction; it carries a moral obligation towards those who are wronged.
Prophet Mohammad, as narrated by Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq from his forefathers, urged Muslims to visit the sick, attend funerals, fulfil their commitments, greet one another, answer invitations—and support the oppressed.
He also taught:
“Whoever helps the oppressed against the oppressor will be my companion in Paradise.”
He further said:
“Whoever walks with an oppressed person to help him, Allah will make his feet firm on the Day when feet slip.”
The Prophet also taught that supporting a wrongdoer does not mean defending his wrongdoing:
“Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or oppressed.”
When asked how one could help an oppressor, he replied that it means preventing him from committing injustice.
Imam al-Sadiq likewise warned against abandoning someone whom one has the ability to help, promising divine support to those who stand with the oppressed.
The questions have been leaked; we know what will be asked...
The real tragedy is not failing because we did not know the answers; it is knowing them—and still choosing the wrong side.
