🔸 Migration Minister Thanos Plevris: "We are cutting benefits. Go and work, otherwise get up and leave Greece. The logic of ‘I feed him and provide for him’ is wrong"

👮🏻‍♂️ Plevris also highlighted tougher penalties for immigrant smuggling, including cases involving individuals working for NGOs which in many cases operate as part of organised smuggling networks

⚙️ The minister stated that for those that received Asylum, they plan on cutting welfare and be training the asylees to work, with the goal of having them not be dependent on the government anymore

✈️ Another point being approached is that if an immigrant who was granted residency due to employment, being unemployed for long periods would revoke the residency permit since the reason was employment to begin with
