سومین کارگاه برکلی درباره‌ی اسناد و مهرهای فارسی میانه، ۱۳ و ۱۴ شهریور ۱۴۰۵

سومین کارگاه برکلی درباره‌ی اسناد و مهرهای فارسی میانه در روزهای13 و 14 شهریور 1405(۴ و ۵ سپتامبر ۲۰۲۶) به‌صورت برخط در بستر زوم برگزار می‌شود.
این کارگاه به همت آرشیو آزاد اسناد فارسی میانه (Open Archive of Middle Persian Documents) و با حمایت کرسی پژوهشی بیتا دریاباری در مطالعات ایران‌شناسی دانشگاه کالیفرنیا، برکلی برگزار می‌شود.
این کارگاه پژوهشگران را گرد هم می‌آورد تا درباره‌ی اسناد و مُهر‌های فارسی میانه‌‌ی روزگار ساسانی و اوایل دوران اسلامی که از مناطق مختلف، از جمله مصر، ایران مرکزی، طبرستان و دیگر نواحی پیدا شده‌اند، به بحث و بررسی بپردازند و مسیر پژوهش در این حوزه را پیش ببرند. نخستین کارگاه در مارس ۲۰۲۳ و دومین کارگاه در اکتبر ۲۰۲۴ برگزار شد.
در نخستین روز کارگاه،  پس از سخنرانی افتتاحیه توسط آدام بنکاتو و آرش زینی، تامی بنفی درباره‌ی کاربرد یک اصطلاح در اسناد فارسی میانه و نظام مالیاتی دوره‌ی اسلامی آغازین سخنرانی خواهد کرد. سپس اُلویا رمبل به بررسی نقش‌های اجتماعی و اقتصادی و جایگاه حقوقی زنان بر اساس اسناد طبرستان و هستیجان می‌پردازد.

The Third Berkeley Workshop on Middle Persian Documents & Sealings, September 4-5, 2026.


The Third Berkeley Workshop on Middle Persian Documents and Sealings will be held online via Zoom on September 4–5, 2026.

The workshop is organized by the Open Archive of Middle Persian Documents, with the support of the Bita Daryabari Presidential Chair in Iranian Studies at the University of California, Berkeley.

The workshop brings together scholars to discuss, analyze, and advance the study of collections of Middle Persian documents and sealings dating from the Sasanian period through the early Islamic era and originating from various regions, including Egypt, Central Iran, Tabarestan, and beyond. The first workshop was held in March 2023, followed by the second in October 2024.

On the first day of the workshop, following an opening presentation by Adam Benkato and Arash Zeini, Tommy Benfey will discuss the use of the term āmār in Middle Persian documents and the early Islamic fiscal system. Olivia Ramble will then examine the socio-economic roles and legal status of women based on the Tabarestān and Hastijān documents. Alice Ziegler will discuss camels in Sasanian glyptic art, with a particular focus on the problem of distinguishing between dromedaries and Bactrian camels.
