Australia’s new Crypto “Travel Rule” is now in force, requiring regulated exchanges to collect, verify and share identifying information for many cryptocurrency transfers.

The rules apply regardless of the amount being transferred, meaning even a $1 transaction can be captured. The changes are part of Australia’s push to align with global anti-money laundering standards while also making it easier for authorities to trace crypto transactions and enforce tax laws.
