When a manuscript that directly answers a specific call is dismissed out-of-hand without feedback, it raises serious questions about editorial bias and transparency.

Since JNER’s editorial team feels our work doesn't meet their undisclosed criteria, I’ll be taking a very close, public look at what does pass their standards. Over the coming weeks, I will be publishing detailed methodological reviews and critiques of papers recently accepted by this journal.

Science deserves open critique and objective evaluation—not arbitrary gatekeeping.
