GB-AstronomyThe Methuselah Nebula (MWP 1) is a bipolar planetary nebula that is over 100,000 years old, making it one of the oldest known planetary nebula. Nearby to it is Alves 1, another faint planetary nebula that was discovered accidentally by an amateur astronomer Filipe Alves while he was observing MWP 1.This project was over 1 year in the making. It began in late August of 2025, and after a hiatus while Cygnus was out of season, we added tons more data to create this result. This is one of the most underrated regions of the sky, with incredible Ha and Oiii structure at both close up and widefield views, so we are glad to do it justice.
