🇮🇩 Indonesia Detains 11 Terror Suspects

Indonesia’s counter-terrorism unit Densus 88 arrested 11 suspects in raids starting on Oct 2 across West Java, Central Java, Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Riau and North Maluku. Police said the suspects, aged 22 to 52, were involved in coordination, recruitment, propaganda and weapons training, with alleged links to networks affiliated with Daulah Islamiyah and other militant groups.

Densus 88 said it had not identified a specific attack plot, but described the operation as a preventive move amid continued extremist activity through digital platforms. The arrests come as Indonesia enters its fourth year without a terrorist attack, while authorities continue to warn about online radicalisation, recruitment and financing risks.

Police said some suspects used online meetings to connect supporters across regions, indicating a dispersed but active network structure. The case points to continued monitoring of ISIS-linked and aligned cells despite the absence of recent attacks.
