🇷🇺🇰🇵 Russia Transfers Drone Know-How

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in Kyiv that Russia has shared knowledge of jet-powered drones with North Korea, while North Korean troops deployed for the war are also being trained to control drones and use electromagnetic jamming. Zelenskyy said the information was passed to former Japanese Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera during his recent visit to Ukraine.

According to Zelenskyy, Moscow has been providing Pyongyang with a broad range of military technologies in exchange for ammunition and missiles. He warned the transfer matters beyond Ukraine because Russia has increased attacks using jet-powered drones that are difficult to intercept, raising the prospect that similar capabilities could later affect Japan and other East Asian states.

Zelenskyy also said Ukraine wants deeper defense cooperation with Japan. Separately, he said the United States is proposing working-level talks with Russia and Ukraine by the end of October.
