I feel like there is a spectrum of love that humans miss between friendship and Romantic love

As an asexual person, my love for my best friend doesn’t fit into the narrow boxes the world provides. What we share stretches far beyond the boundaries of standard friendship; it is a profound, fiercely loyal emotional intimacy that anchors my entire world. We hold a closeness so deep that it mirrors the soul-binding commitment of a romance, yet it is completely free from sexual desire. Why do us humans put such emphasis on something that is naturally just a biological urge to bring offspring into this world? I feel like emotional intimacy has far more depth. To me love needs no physical translation to be whole.
